What is juggling?
In the most basic definition, juggling is object manipulation. This means that it's not only juggling when we throw clubs at each other in our show, it's also juggling when we flip plates, balance chairs, or spin yo-yos. There are lots of different types of juggling, the most popular is toss juggling, that's the kind you do with three balls or with three clubs. Simply put toss juggling is when you have more objects then hands. Sorry, unless you only use one hand jugglimg two balls is not really juggling. If you want to learn to juggle you should start with three balls. With the right equipment and a good instructor, like me, most people can learn to juggle in only 30 minutes. If you think you are not "most people" you are wrong. As far as juggling goes, if you want it and put in 30 minutes of work at it you can have it. The best age to start learning is around 6 or 7, but in this case, you can teach old dogs new tricks as long as the dog wants to learn them.

Why do people juggle?
I started juggling when I was in the third grade, I picked up some old bean bags (square ones) and have been throwing things, and dropping them, ever since. For me juggling has been a mini-passion in my life. It is a constant quest of mine to accomplish what people think can not be done. Many who start juggling find it hard to stop. When they start to learn, the first person they impress with their new skill will be themselves. Suddenly, you are doing what once was impossible. The next thought you have is, "What else can be done?" Then you find one of the great truths of juggling, that is that there is always more to learn. Even the most expert juggler never stops learning. There will always be one more trick to learn, one more ball to add, another device to learn. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you need to get yourself a set of juggling balls right away and start throwing them up in the air. It can be a very rewarding experience if you let it be. Don't get frustrated, don't get mad, and whatever you do, don't stop throwing those balls. It does get easier and you will get better, I promise.

How do I get started?
The first thing you need is a desire to juggle, if you have this the rest will come. The second thing you need is something to juggle. Believe it or not, people did know how to juggle before you could buy nice fancy juggling balls. I'm not saying that buying good juggling equipment isn't a good idea, in fact the better your equipment the better your juggling will be, this is true for many reasons. What I am saying is that you don't need to wait to start juggling. The sooner you start throwing things in the air the sooner you will be able to juggle.
So, what do you juggle? Anything you can throw, you can juggle. When you first start out what you want is something that fits well in your hand, is not to heavy, or to light. Golf balls, tennis balls and bean bags work well, so do balled up socks or tomatoes. (I just wouldn't eat them when your done, or juggle them over carpet.) It is important that you find three of the same item and not mix items. For example, three golf balls not two golf balls and a bean bag. Following this rule will help you out a lot. As soon as you have three of the same item, pick up one of them and put the other two down.
